Ethtool cannot advertise speed 1000 on 20.04LTS r8168

I recently faced an ethernet issue where I was stuck on a "wired connecting" loop, I was able to fix it, but now am unable to use gigabit ethernet. I know that it is supported by the cable and the system, as I was able to use it before and even in output of sudo ethtool enp1s0, it shows

In nm-connection-editor, when i change to speed 1000 and full duplex, as well as manual and auto negotiation, nothing happens, shows "connected-100mbps"
