Hosting a Minecraft Hamachi Server and Getting: java.net.ConnectionExeption:

I am hosting a Minecraft Java server on Windows, gf is trying to play on Mac. I downloaded the server from Mojang site, installed Java to solve the SDK error, and set up a Hamachi server. I can run the server and play.
When my gf tried to join she would spawn in and then fall until she got the "java.net.ConnectionExeption: Connection timed out: no further information" screen.
I checked a couple of things that might be in the way:
- Allowed Java through firewall,
- Switched Mac to prefer IPv4,
- confirmed that we can each connect to other servers (ie hypixel)
And none of these seem to be the issue. I'd assume it's a connection problem but our internet works fine on everything else. Does anyone have any ideas?
