Trying to install a software - get message "Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework was successfully downloaded from the internet" only instead
Sometimes when trying to install a software (currently: FreeScreenVideoRecorder), the message "Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework was successfully downloaded from the internet" (originally in German: "Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework wurde erfolgreich aus dem Internet geladen") pops up without the actual software getting installed. This occurs for repeated installation attempts. It's a quite general message for which I unfortunately can not find a more precise description of what's going on and what might be the problem for the software not getting installed. I'm not sure whether it's the same problem as Can't install programs due to Net Framework for which either [a] modification of Net Framework properties or [b] running a Repair Install for Windows reinstallation are suggested, both quite severe interventions.
Is this quite general message known as a specific problem for which a solution or a work-around is suggested?
The PC is working with Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. The command reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Net Framework Setup\NDP" /s in the Command Prompt tells that Version 4.8.04084 is installed.
